Introduction

The BioRad QX200 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR™) System provides absolute quantification of target DNA or RNA molecules for EvaGreen or probe-based digital PCR applications. The advantages of this system includes:

Droplet Digital PCR Technology and Workflow
The QX200 Droplet Digital PCR System consists of the following instrumentation:

The QX200 Droplet Generator is used to partition ddPCR reaction mix into thousands of nanoliter-sized droplets. After PCR on a thermal cycler, droplets from each sample are analyzed individually on the QX200 Droplet Reader. Droplets are read well by well as they are streamed single file past a two-color optical detection system in a serial manner. Up to 96 samples can be processed per run. The PCR-positive and PCR-negative droplets are counted to provide absolute quantification of target DNA in digital form. Alternatively, amplified products can be extracted from droplets following PCR for downstream applications, such as sequencing or cloning.

The QX200 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR System simplifies the Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) workflow, reducing hands-on time and eliminating user-to-user variability.

Operating Hours

Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday, 8.30 am – 6.30 pm daily.

For night usage after 6.30 pm, please kindly inform Dr Yap Lai Lai at , at least 3 days prior to use.

Rules & Regulations for the usage of BioRad QX200 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR
Use of machine
1. Please log in your details and usage time in the instrument user logbook located next to the instrument.
2. Please ensure that the instruments are kept clean and the power switches are off after use.
3. Please do not save any experimental or data files on the desktop. These should only be stored in the user data folder in D drive. Please note that regular clearing up of the disk space will be performed at the end of every month, and any data more than 3 months old will be deleted without further notice.

Charges

1. The usage of the microscope will be charged quarterly according to the following rates:

2. Waste bins will be provided –no need to purchase.
3. Users will need to purchase their own 96-well semi-skirted plates, cartridges, pipet tips, super mixes (as well as all the oils and seals if they are using the instrument only).
